Program Summery
In the Music Diploma Program, students get private lessons in their chosen instrument or voice, and take classes in music theory and history, performing ensembles, and class piano (for those not majoring on a keyboard instrument). Students may also choose to take other music electives. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students receive a Diploma in Performing Arts – Music, which transfers to a number of university degree programs.
Many Music Diploma graduates transfer to university to pursue careers as public school music teachers. The diploma program also provides a basis for further studies directed towards performance, musicology, composition, private teaching, music technology and other careers in music.
