Program Summary

Program Description

Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.

Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Westminster.

The commercially well-connected University of Westminster is hugely international. Students can study alongside students from nearly 170 countries.

Biomedical science is concerned with the detailed study of the human body, both in health and disease, with emphasis on the diagnosis and understanding of disease states and the mechanisms involved.

In Year 1 students will study the important fundamental sciences, including biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and human anatomy and physiology.

In Year 2 they will develop an understanding of a wide range of disease processes, combined with the principles of laboratory procedures used to aid diagnosis and treatment.

In Year 3 students will focus on the study of the complex nature of disease as it affects particular biological systems. They will also study the laboratory procedures used in haematology, clinical immunology, cellular and molecular pathology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology, to diagnose and monitor disease. Students will also undertake a major research project, which will enable them to develop the skills they need for genuine scientific inquiry.
