Bachelor of Business - Business Intelligence and Information Systems (026830C)

3-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

In this program, students learn how decisions they make contribute directly to the organisation’s success. Students will be empowered with knowledge of how to become a leader in business and understand the pillars of a sustainable business model. Lecturers’ strong network connections and the Work Integrated Learning program ensures students receive relevant industry placements.

In the first year, students will study core subjects relevant to all business majors. Students can then tailor the degree to suit their interests by selecting a preferred major and possible minor.

In the Business Intelligence and Information Systems major, students earn how to integrate information technology systems and data into business strategies and work with digital information systems to manage large amounts of data securely. Students use their insight as a business intelligence analyst to create cost-effective systems for business enterprises and identify business opportunities. Students ensure their employability and maximise their opportunities in this rapidly growing industry. Graduates can apply for membership with the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).

With the aim of equipping students with real-world experience, students will start preparing for Work Integrated Learning in their first year of study. Embedded throughout the degree, employability and career development tools prepare students for a final-year capstone subject where students have the flexibility to complete an internship within a local business or multidisciplinary project for an industry partner. Students who work full-time have the option to complete an independent project for their employer.
