Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering (H301) (Sandwich Year)

3-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

This accredited course provides the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience that students need to become a work-ready mechanical engineer. Students will embed the knowledge gained from their lectures and tutorials and develop their practical abilities in design, computing and modelling, through hands-on projects and design classes.

Students will choose from a range of authentic, real-world engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios, to work on both individually and with student engineers from other disciplines. Group work mirrors the relationships of an engineering team and will help them to build professional skills, such as teamwork and communication. Open access makerspace provides a place for them to design, create and collaborate.

Students will have the opportunity to complete a salaried placement working in a location of their choosing, including outside of the UK. This is a great way to experience a professional working environment and put the skills that they have to learned into practice. In the past, students have completed placements at Rolls-Royce, Network Rail, Siemens, General Electric and Bosch.
