The Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) at Monash University Malaysia is a full-time, two-semester research program offered by the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences. This program is designed for high-achieving students who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree and wish to deepen their understanding of medical science through independent research.

Curriculum Structure

The program is divided equally between coursework and research:

Coursework (24 credit points)

  • Research Methods in Medical Science: Training in research methodology.

  • Elective Units: Three electives (18 points) from approved level four or five units, or a reading unit on selected topics approved by your thesis supervisor and honours coordinator.

Research (24 credit points)

  • Honours Thesis: A four-part research project conducted over two semesters, culminating in a comprehensive thesis.
