This course is designed for medical graduates who want to explore research in areas such as biomedical science, public health, clinical medicine, and medical education. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from different research streams and work on projects that align with your interests.
As part of the program, you’ll be immersed in a research environment, working alongside experienced researchers. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern research tools and methods across clinical and laboratory settings. You’ll also develop key skills in data analysis and learn how to clearly present scientific ideas, both in writing and through oral presentations
The Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) at Monash University Malaysia is a full-time, two-semester research program offered by the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences. This program is designed for high-achieving students who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree and wish to deepen their understanding of medical science through independent research.
Duration: 1 year (full-time)

The program is divided equally between coursework and research:
Research Methods in Medical Science: Training in research methodology.
Elective Units: Three electives (18 points) from approved level four or five units, or a reading unit on selected topics approved by your thesis supervisor and honours coordinator.
Honours Thesis: A four-part research project conducted over two semesters, culminating in a comprehensive thesis.
