Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

The curriculum is structured into two main phases: the Medical Sciences Phase (Phase 1), covering the first two years, and the Clinical Phase (Phase 2), which spans the following three years. Each phase is organized into four blocks, with modules and clinical postings arranged strategically to enhance learning.

The Medical Sciences Phase, also referred to as the Pre-Clinical Phase, includes four blocks:

• Block 1: Foundation in Medical Sciences

• Block 2: Introduction to Behavioural Science, Clinical Medicine, and Community Medicine

• Block 3: System-Based Medical Sciences I

• Block 4: System-Based Medical Sciences II

The Clinical Phase also consists of four blocks, extending over three years:

• Block 5: Junior Clerkship

• Block 6: Specialty Clerkship I

• Block 7: Specialty Clerkship II

• Block 8: Senior Clerkship

A detailed outline of each block’s modules is provided below. Throughout the five-year program, students also engage in courses aimed at developing soft skills, including communication, behavioural science, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and management.

The SEGi MBBS program is internationally recognised and accredited by medical councils and regulatory authorities across multiple countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Qatar, and the Maldives, ensuring global recognition of the qualification.
