Program Summary

The Biological Sciences is a field that encompasses the study of all life and living organisms. Students who are interested in biology have opportunities to pursue a wide range of careers and academic pursuits. Students have the choice of pursuing a bachelor of science or bachelor of arts degree option, with elective coursework in one of three focal areas:
  • Cell and molecular biology,
  • Ecology, environment and conservation,
  • Health sciences.
The core curriculum required of all biological sciences majors consists of basic course work in introductory biology, biodiversity, cellular biology, evolution, genetics, and ecology. A variety of advanced courses in focal areas offer greater depth, and preparation for employment or many postgraduate opportunities.
