4-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

Students who elect the Aerospace Systems concentration are frequently interested in both physics and engineering, or physics but with emphasis on applications. The Aerospace Systems Concentration allows the student to take almost all of the courses required for the Aerospace Engineering degree, but also to take additional advanced physics courses. Advanced physics training improves their understanding of the fundamentals underlying engineering practice and develops problem-solving skills. Students in Aerospace Systems may take engineering courses either in a spacecraft or an aircraft sub-track. The University of Kansas's majors have access to undergraduate research opportunities either in physics or in engineering and take senior design courses in both physics and Aerospace Engineering giving them real-world project experience.
