Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Biomedical Science (with Foundation Year)

3-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

Program Description

The combined 4 year programme allows students with lower academic marks, or whose qualifications are not equivalent to British A Levels, to gain the necessary qualifications to proceed to undergraduate study.  After completing the Foundation Year, students will be eligible to progress to a number of University of Chester undergraduate programmes.
The Biomedical Science degree is designed for those wishing to gain employment as biomedical scientists and clinical scientists in the NHS, or those wishing to pursue scientific research within academia, industry or the healthcare sector.

As such, it leads to a professionally recognised qualification, being externally accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). This means that when students have successfully completed the degree, and then gained a position to complete their registration portfolio, they can become a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist.
