Bachelor of Science - Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages Education

4-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

Program Description

SUNY Oswego's program in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) prepares you to specialize in teaching English to non-native English speakers in an increasingly globalized environment.

The unique program, which offers both linguistics and education courses, combines three years of intensive academic study with a year of clinically rich experience, during which you’ll be immersed in schools, coached by certified English as a second language (ESL) teachers and supported by Oswego’s faculty. TESOL majors can seek initial certification upon graduation and apply to teach ESL in K-12 schools.
