Program Summary

The BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science offers a thorough grounding in modern medical science while developing both practical and transferable skills essential for your future career. In the first year, you will build a solid understanding of core biochemical principles and examine the characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells through modules in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology. Laboratory sessions, including the use of light microscopes, will provide hands-on experience in observing cell structures and appreciating their vital role in human biology. The Skills in Biomedical Science module equips you with the ability to record, analyse, and present experimental data effectively. Alongside this, you will study the basic concepts of Chemistry that form the foundation of all biological sciences. You will also explore the human body’s structure and functions in Human Anatomy and Physiology and gain an introduction to genetic principles, including chromosome behavior and inheritance, in Molecular Genetics.​
