Program Summery

The Investigation - Public and Private diploma program hones each students' skills in analysis, communication, information gathering, interviewing, issue identification, researching and problem solving. They will learn to use technology to present their investigative findings, and students will be introduced to key professional skills and industry best practices.

  • Interpret and adhere to relevant legislation, professional practices, and ethical standards in completing investigative inquiries.

  • Analyze relevant contemporary events and threats at the global, national and local levels.
  • Apply various investigative techniques, intelligence analysis, and related public safety approaches to inquiries in the public and private sectors.
  • Analyze all aspects of the investigative process employing research and critical thinking skills.
  • Apply conflict resolution, and crisis intervention and prevention strategies adhering to legal guidelines and industry requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, with stakeholders using various modes of technologies commonly used in the industry.
  • Acquire, synthesize, and report information from a variety of sources (including open, human, technical and surveillance by using current and relevant investigative techniques.
  • Use industry specific software to augment case research, documentation, analysis and client presentation.
