Program Summary
The Diploma in Health Sciences provides a good grounding in the many disciplines that exist within the field of health science. While the main focus is on biological and biochemical subjects, candidates will studies will extend into chemistry, cell biology and anatomy. They will develop strong foundations for entry into the second year of a number of Griffith University degree level programs in health sciences.
In the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree, candidates will develop the knowledge and skills to work as a medical scientist. In their first year, they will take courses in chemistry, cell biology, anatomy and physiology. Students will learn about the body's structure, how it functions under normal circumstances and general health challenges. From their second year, they will start to focus on specialist courses in medical laboratory science and learn how the body functions under diseased conditions.
