Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Fine Arts - Theatre Arts - Design/Technology

4-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) is a three-semester program for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives students firsthand practical and cultural understanding of the Adelphi campus and New York area through its contextual curriculum. Students may enter the program in the spring, summer or fall. Upon completion of the program, students progress into the second year of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

As a major in theatre design/technology, Students will train in the many aspects of design and technical functions of the performing arts, including set and costume design, props, drafting, lighting design and pulling it all together as a producer. They will analyze and compare the historical, critical and aesthetic contexts in which the dramatic tradition has developed. In their third year, faculty will review their portfolio and advise them on which area - theatre technology, scenic design, costume design, lighting design or stage management - they should specialize in.
