Extended Accelerator - Discover Sciences

4-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

Program Description

The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) is a three-semester program for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives students firsthand practical and cultural understanding of the UDayton campus and Dayton area through its contextual curriculum. Upon completion of the program, students progress into the second year of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

As an Extended Accelerator student at UDayton Global you'll receive:
  • An immersive educational experience with a contextual curriculum bridging language, culture and academics.
  • Live, Learn, Grow is a unique course designed for international students that will deepen your working knowledge of life in the United States and give you a comprehensive understanding of the local community and region.
  • Bolster your academic achievement with English-language instruction, tutoring, academic advising and student support.
  • Benefit from personalized English-language instruction that’s fully contextual—for example, lab-specific English-language instruction alongside your lab-inclusive science course.

As a member of the Discover Sciences program, you will be able to explore the physical and life science majors offered through the College of Arts and Sciences.

You will be involved in an aspect of the First-Year Experience program designed specifically for students who are exploring their academic options. A weekly seminar, Introduction to the University, is designed to help you learn more about the University and yourself. Topics such as study skills, goal setting and academic choices are discussed. While this one-hour seminar is required of all students, sections are designed specifically for Discover Sciences students. These sections are limited to 25 students, and the professor serves as both your instructor and academic adviser. You will also have the opportunity to work with peer student mentors through this seminar.

Be assured that your professor/adviser will understand your desire to explore various academic programs and how those programs can match your interests and aptitude.
