Program Summary

This course is a pathway to the Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University Sydney Campus. The Foundation Studies Program is a university preparatory course, which focuses on building the language and study skills required to succeed at university.
Taught by a team of highly qualified teachers with specialist expertise in helping international students adapt to tertiary studies in Australia, students will learn academic fundamentals while building their confidence in a caring and supportive environment.

Students who pass all Level 2 subjects and achieve an overall grade of 65 percent - with an overall grade of at least 60 percent in Academic Study Skills 2 - will be eligible for direct entry into the Bachelor of Business.

Students will develop solid foundations in modern business with La Trobe's Bachelor of Business. They will prepare to thrive in a digitally disrupted world with this highly flexible degree and start building a dream career in business.

Students will explore multiple business disciplines in the first year and develop foundational knowledge and enterprise skills in areas such as management, organisational structures, data analytics and ethical business practices.

Students will choose from a wide range of majors, minors and optional second majors. They can also pair their major with complementary study from another discipline.

No matter how students specialise, they'll get hands-on experience and learn the latest digital skills while developing essential leadership, communication and critical-thinking skills.

Students will develop professional business skills as they work in diverse teams, present business strategies and use the software that's essential in modern business.

They'll graduate with the perfect blend of business fundamentals and technical expertise so they can change the business world.

Students will learn:

  • Digital literacy: Use a wide range of digital and data-processing tools to analyse business activity and become a more effective business professional.
  • Management and business structures: Understand how to communicate, collaborate and connect with your business peers and stakeholders.
