Graduate Certificate - Advanced Investigations and Enforcement (AIE)

Postgraduate Certificate

Program Summary

In the Advanced Investigations and Enforcement (AIE) eight-month graduate certificate program, students will receive a combination of academic knowledge and hands-on training to pursue a dynamic career in public and private policing and investigations. With a focus on the development of advanced skills, students will be prepared for the challenges and rewards that come with investigations and law enforcement. After successful completion of the first semester, students can apply for a training completion number. It will make them eligible to be tested, at the students' own expense, for the provincially regulated license to be a private investigator. Additionally, by completing the Firearms Safety course, students will be eligible to apply for a Canadian Firearms License.

When students graduate from this program, these are the types of employers waiting for them:
  • Private and public policing
  • Private investigations
  • Corporate and private security
  • Law enforcement
  • Public safety organizations
