Program Summary
This course is ideal for students that are interested in how society responds to criminal behaviour and the challenges that this provides. Blending theory with practice, students will develop their knowledge by exploring key issues related to crime and justice before testing that knowledge through placements (when possible) within criminology-focused organizations and projects.
The degree will focus on key elements of criminology and sociology including crime and control, social sciences, justice and punishment, and forensic skills. The course offers visits (when possible) to criminal justice organizations, courts and prisons, as well as industry leading guest speakers to give students a well-rounded and practice-based course that will propel them into their chosen career.
By studying this Criminology degree, students will extend their understanding of why individuals and organizations break the law. Students will be well-prepared for a career in developing solutions to a range of problems associated with crime and criminality in a diverse set of industries.
