Program Summary
Students will gain a creative and technical understanding of events production, audience experience and approaches to the creation of artistic content for immersive experiences, learning how to apply immersive technologies to creative productions.
The course offers a unique combination of content in site-specific virtual sets and production design, games development and production, and immersive digital technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality. Project based learning allows students to experiment with early prototypes and work-in-progress showings. A range of underpinning theories and models steer the content of creative immersive work towards a real engagement with a new type of audience, viewer, gamer or participant.
Students are taught by experienced professionals who are involved in international research and development in immersive production and virtual technologies, working with global partners and producing international outputs.
The individual project and Advanced Practice (Internship) module allow students to apply both their practical and theoretical skills in their chosen specialism and to gain real-world experience in industry or research.
