Program Description

The M.A. in English at UCM offers advanced coursework for high school teachers, those interested in pursuing doctoral education in the future, and anyone looking to study English in greater depth. The graduate seminars are taught by experts in many different areas of English studies, from medieval literature to contemporary fiction, rhetoric to literary theory. The program will give students extensive and broad knowledge of English literature and also allow them to specialize in areas they find particularly interesting.

In the M.A. program, students will learn from active scholars contributing to their area of expertise, and they’ll start joining the many exciting scholarly conversations in English studies. Students will also join a community of enthusiastic graduate students who apply what they learn there to their own classrooms, to conference papers and publications, to doctoral programs, and to everything else they read and write.
