This course in Sound Design for Film, TV and Interactive Media offers a stimulating programme with a unique blend of creative practice and skills development alongside as academic study.
The University know that people's lives are busy, so they've designed the course to be taught through a combination of intensive in-person sessions, online interactive and self-directed learning, as well as group and individual tutorials.
This course is unique in that it is delivered alongside multiple degree routes in the broader Creative and Cultural Industries subject areas, which enables students to have a multi and interdisciplinary learning experience, and meet and collaborate with a range of creative professionals, including filmmakers, musicians and composers.
Sound is essential element of all contemporary media, from television and film to games and online. These industries play key cultural and economic roles both within the UK and worldwide, and are important providers of employment. But these sectors are also characterised by fast-paced changes, to which individuals and organisations constantly need to adapt. This course will equip students with highly employable skills and an advanced knowledge base that will enable them to navigate this environment both as an individual and in their professional roles.
The course is taught by a team of experienced educators who have had professional careers in a related sector and/or are internationally recognised researchers in the field. A group of non-academic partners and advisors also contribute to the delivery of the programme, in the forms of visiting talks, debates and discussions, contributing to assignment briefs, and offering networking opportunities.
