Master of Science - Accounting and Finance

The MSc Accounting and Finance programme has been designed to develop business leaders of the future who have the skills, knowledge and attributes required to think strategically and effectively challenge in the accounting and finance context; evaluate the risks and opportunities presented by technology; and champion sustainable business growth. Designed with insights from employers and industry, the MSc Accounting and Finance will provide students with an integrated academic and professional training environment in which students will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to excel in a variety of professional business and accounting roles. Students will also develop digital and data skills that global employers want in the Big Data era, offering a crucial edge in the marketplace against other qualified accountants. There are two routes that students can choose from and, before the end of stage one, students will be asked to elect which of the two routes they will be studying for the remainder of the MSc programme. Route one is a broad-based business and accounting route and Route two, an ACCA Strategic Professional specialised route. For Route two, students are advised to have completed ACCA’s Skills and Knowledge papers in order to be able to take ACCA Strategic Professional level exams alongside the MSc programme.
