Master of Science - Environmental Management (with Placement) (18-month) (September Entry)

Master's Degree

Program Summary

This course develops students' understanding of environmental problems at a master’s level and gives students the skills to analyse and develop long-term solutions. Students will be able to oversee environmental performance in the private, public and voluntary sector ensuring that improvements are made where possible and legislation is followed. This course seeks to raise students' ability to understand and analyse environmental problems, in order to develop long-term solutions.

Students can take the course with or without a Professional Development work placement. Both options are accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

If students opt for the placement route, they will have the opportunity to work on various projects and graduate with hands-on professional experience, something that will make them stand out when they embark on their career. At Brunel, they have excellent links with many organisations through their research activities so they can be assured of a high-quality placement at a relevant organisation. Opportunities for Brunel's master's students include placements at The Environment Agency and international placements at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

Dean’s International Scholarship: This course is eligible for a £2,000 fee waiver, per academic year, subject to availability. This Scholarship is for full-time international students only. Scholarship eligibility will be automatically considered and the scholarship will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
