Program Summary

The International Trade and Finance MSc course will develop students'  knowledge of the global economy, its structure and the roles they could undertake within this evolving world.

Students will also be invited to formal and informal events that support the scheduled teaching programme. These can include talks from guest speakers, outside visits or broader postgraduate student meetings and activities. This will further develop students' understanding of the contemporary international trade and financial environment.

On the master’s course, students will examine and refine their understanding of the drivers of international, inter and intra-corporate trade and investment that are shaping today’s global economy.

London Metropolitan University will guide students' understanding of the different economic theories that aim to explain trade and international investment, as well as the policies and practices of trade and investment across the world. Core modules students will study include International Corporate Finance; Research Methods for Global Business; Growth, Trade and Development; and Financial Derivatives and Risk Management.

Students will have a variety of option modules to choose from so they can develop specialist knowledge within global finance and trade. Specialist subjects include:

  • International Logistics
  • Financial Derivatives and Risk Management
  • Environmental Economics and Investment
  • Practical Sustainability
  • Consultancy

An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
