Master of Secondary Teaching (5149) (099072K)

This program is designed so that students can combine their studies with existing work and family commitments. Most of the classes at the Broadway site are taught in the evenings or on weekends. Like all the Education degrees offered by The University of Notre Dame Australia, the Master of Secondary Education has a strong practical teaching component. In this degree, students will spend a total of 14 weeks gaining in-the-classroom experience.

The degree gives students the option of selecting one or teaching areas to pursue and allows for electives and the possibility of a specialization in an area such as Inclusive Education amongst others.

In addition, students will be required to enroll in and pay to sit the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE). Students must pass both the literacy and numeracy components of the test before they progress to Year Two of this program.
