The materials science and engineering degree program combines a strong foundation in materials informatics  blending hands-on experiments with computational research. By integrating core materials science principles with data science techniques, graduates will be well-equipped to collaborate and communicate effectively with scientists across various disciplines.

Graduates of the materials science and engineering program will be able to solve complex problems, design solutions with societal impact, and communicate effectively. They will make ethical decisions, work collaboratively in teams, conduct experiments, analyze data, and apply engineering judgment. Additionally, they will be prepared for lifelong learning and adapting to new knowledge in their field.
