Why Humber College - North
  • North Campus: Humber's largest campus is centrally located with easy access to the downtown core. Its balance of urban living and lush forestry makes this campus an ideal blend for all students.
  • Facilities: The labs, equipment and state-of-the-art learning and workspaces at Humber College set its campuses apart from other post-secondary institutions. Humber is committed to excellence in polytechnic education and has developed its facilities so that several areas within the campuses can be used as living labs where students learn, practice and apply their skills in a real-world setting.
  • Career Outcomes: Humber emphasizes hands-on, career-focused learning and holds the success of its students as its highest priority. Humber helps graduates be successful in their careers, contribute to the communities they serve and be global leaders.
  • Polytechnic Education: A polytechnic education offers a distinct third option between university and college – one that combines deep, theoretical learning with applied, hands-on experience.

Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.
Even if students do NOT meet the minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), they still can get conditionally accepted in their program of choice with the condition of completing Humber's English program prior to starting their chosen program. Please note, the English for Academic Purposes program used for conditional admission is only offered at Humber College’s Lakeshore Campus.

    On-Campus Housing

Humber provides on-campus residence for students at two of its Toronto campuses (North and Lakeshore). Applying for a room in residence is a simple process. Once applicants have been accepted to study at Humber they may apply to live in residence with the International Student Residence Application form.

NOTE: On-Campus housing is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once students receive a room in residence they will be required to provide a $500 deposit to the Humber Residence Department. The $500 is non-refundable, students are asked not to pay until they have been assigned a residence room.

    Homestay

Students looking for a welcoming place to live and wanting to add an enriching element to their Canadian experience can consider a homestay option. Homestay providers coordinate accommodations with a host family, which helps ease the transition into life in a new country.

Humber does not recommend any particular homestay provider and is unable to review the host families and their homes. Students should do their own evaluation of each homestay provider.

Please note that the International Centre is not responsible for the information provided by homestay providers. The prices and conditions are not part of Humber College’s tuition and should be negotiated directly by the student with the homestay provider.

    Off-Campus Housing

There are many options for living off-campus. Please note that the International Centre is not responsible for the information provided by Places4Students and other renting websites. The prices and conditions are not part of Humber College’s tuition and should be negotiated directly by the student with the housing provider.
