About

UC College offers pathway programs that enable access to the University of Canberra. Our pathway programs make quality higher education possible to those who would not otherwise gain direct entry. UC College is part of the University of Canberra. Our students share the same campus and have access to all the same facilities, which provides an authentic and exciting introduction to university life.

Diploma entry programs are open to both international and domestic students. Finishing a diploma successfully enables direct entry to a relevant UC degree with credit. Enabling programs providing domestic school leavers and non-current school leavers the opportunity to qualify and prepare for study at UC. The University of Canberra International Foundation Studies is a pre-university level program designed to prepare international students for entry into the first year of a University of Canberra bachelor's degree. ELICOS programs are intensive English language courses that are offered through our University of Canberra College English Language Centre.  We also offer Special English Programs (SEP) which are customised English courses for groups.

Why University of Canberra College

  • Australia as a Study Destination: Australia is a world leader when it comes to university education. According to QS, it has the third strongest higher education system internationally due to our high-quality offerings, broad range of study options, including study abroad and exchange, and ease of access and participation. Seven of the best 85 student cities in the world are in Australia, with this popularity as a destination for international students growing each year. The Australian Government invests an estimated $280 million annually in scholarships for international students, making access to globally recognised qualifications easier than ever.
  • Location: The University of Canberra sits on 118 hectares in Bruce, a north-western suburb of Canberra within easy reach of shopping and entertainment venues in the Belconnen Town Centre and the Civic centre.
  • Student Life: With over 70 social, cultural, sporting and academic clubs and societies to choose from, there’s a group to suit every interest at UC. Social clubs draw together students with similar interests – such as music, cosplay, politics, gaming, public speaking, religion, environmental causes or LGBTQI+ support – for events and gatherings throughout the year. Cultural clubs are open to all students – not just those who share a specific country or culture. They are a great way to connect with people from both similar and different backgrounds, and UC clubs actively appreciate cultures from all around the globe. Sporting clubs help UC students stay fit and healthy across sports including soccer, netball, rugby league, swimming, hockey, rugby union, athletics, cricket, AFL, table tennis, volleyball, gridiron and more. Each club has its own levels of commitment and skill, but many allow you to take part in university sporting events like Intravarsity, UniSport Nationals and UniSport Nationals Snow.

Features

147 out of 147 programs are eligible for Temporary Graduate Visa.

The Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) allows international students who have recently graduated from an Australian institution to live, study, and work in Australia temporarily after they finish their studies.
This visa is divided into two streams:

  • Graduate Work stream – For international students who have skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on Australia's Skilled Occupation List. This stream grants a visa for up to 18 months.
  • Post-Study Work stream – For international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. This stream can grant a visa for 2 to 4 years depending on the qualification level (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree).

The Temporary Graduate Visa helps graduates gain work experience in Australia, and in some cases, it may also help them qualify for a skilled migration visa if they meet additional criteria.
