Why UC College?

Innovative pathway programs

UC College offers pathway programs that enable access to the University of Canberra. Their pathway programs make quality higher education possible to those who would not otherwise gain direct entry.

  • Diploma entry programs are open to both international and domestic students. Finishing a diploma successfully enables direct entry to a relevant UC degree with credit.
  • Access programs enable domestic school leavers and non-recent school leavers to qualify and prepare for study at UC.
  • University of Canberra International Foundation Studies is a pre-university level program designed to prepare you for entry into the first year of a University of Canberra bachelor's degree.
  • ELICOS programs are intensive English language courses as well as IELTS preparation classes that are offered through UCC English Language Centre.  UC College also offer Special English Programs (SEP) which are customised English courses for groups.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - UC College is the only official IELTS test centre in Canberra.

Features

81 out of 81 programs are eligible for Temporary Graduate Visa.

The Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) allows international students who have recently graduated from an Australian institution to live, study, and work in Australia temporarily after they finish their studies.
This visa is divided into two streams:

  • Graduate Work stream – For international students who have skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on Australia's Skilled Occupation List. This stream grants a visa for up to 18 months.
  • Post-Study Work stream – For international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. This stream can grant a visa for 2 to 4 years depending on the qualification level (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree).

The Temporary Graduate Visa helps graduates gain work experience in Australia, and in some cases, it may also help them qualify for a skilled migration visa if they meet additional criteria.

Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.
Even if you do NOT meet our minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), you still can get conditionally accepted in the program of your choice with the condition of completing our English program prior to starting your chosen program.

Students need to plan their accommodations well in advance of their arrival as all accommodation options fill up quickly, well before the start of the semester.

On-Campus Residence Accommodations

On-Campus residence accommodations are provided per discretion by the school.

Off-Campus Accommodations

The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.

Homestay

There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.
