The university is one of the oldest higher education providers in the United Kingdom having recently celebrated its 180th year of teaching, starting off as a teacher training college back in 1839. Originally based on one campus in Chester, the university now offers more than 200 single and combined honour’s programmes across a number of specialist sites in Chester, Shrewsbury and Warrington. Courses have an emphasis on practical learning to enhance prospects via industry placements or overseas opportunities, ranging from five-weeks to one-year.

Ideally placed in the North West of England, it is less than an hour from Manchester and Liverpool, just a two-hour direct train journey to London and close to both the beautiful Welsh coast and mountains.
- Centre for Foundation Studies: Chester’s Foundation Years are designed with the next level of study in mind. They develop their curriculum to ensure there is alignment with the modules and topics that students will study after completing their Foundation Year. Teaching, learning and assessment methods reflect those that students will experience throughout their degree. In addition, they work closely with University faculties to ensure a smooth transition for students from Foundation Year to the next year.

Post-Study Work Visa
78 out of 78 programs are eligible for Post-Study Work Visa.
Post-Study Work Visa will be open to all students, on Tier 4 visas, who are accepted onto a course in the 2020 intake or later. Once you have successfully completed a course of study at the undergraduate level or above at an approved UK Higher Education Provider you would be able to stay and work (in any sector or at any level) for a maximum of two years.

Co-op/Internship Participation
Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.
Conditional Offer Letter
Even if you do NOT meet our minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), you still can get conditionally accepted in the program of your choice with the condition of completing our English program prior to starting your chosen program.
Accommodations
Students need to plan their accommodations well in advance of their arrival as all accommodation options fill up quickly, well before the start of the semester.
On-Campus Residence Accommodations
On-Campus residence accommodations are provided per discretion by the school.
Off-Campus Accommodations
The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.
Homestay
There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.
