About

The University of Strathclyde International Study Centre provides specialist degree preparation for international students studying abroad. Once students have successfully completed their preparation programme and met the progression criteria, they can begin their chosen university degree. They aim to give students the best chance of success when they progress to their degree at the University of Strathclyde.

Why the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre

  • Access to University Facilities: Students will be part of the University from the day they arrive at the International Study Centre. This means they will have access to all the campus facilities, including the library, Centre for Sport & Recreation and Students' Union. They will also have access to additional resources available at the International Study Centre.
  • Personal Monitoring and Support: Students will receive specialist support during their studies, as well as regular assessments to monitor their progress, including examinations and coursework. Tutorial sessions will give students the opportunity to get individual feedback from their tutor and discuss anything that's worrying them.
  • Progression to Degree: Once students have successfully completed their preparation programme and met the progression criteria, they can begin their chosen university degree.
  • Skills for Career Success: The International Study Centre offers a variety of employability-focused activities that will give students a head start in their future career, they call this CareerAhead. Students are helped to become a highly skilled, self-aware, confident and employable graduate.

555 out of 555 programs are eligible for Post-Study Work Visa.

Post-Study Work Visa will be open to all students, on Tier 4 visas, who are accepted onto a course in the 2020 intake or later. Once you have successfully completed a course of study at the undergraduate level or above at an approved UK Higher Education Provider you would be able to stay and work (in any sector or at any level) for a maximum of two years.
The full details and requirements are yet to be announced by the UK Government, but will be updated here when made available.

Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.

Even if you do NOT meet our minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), you still can get conditionally accepted in the program of your choice with the condition of completing our English program prior to starting your chosen program.

Students need to plan their accommodations well in advance of their arrival as all accommodation options fill up quickly, well before the start of the semester.

On-Campus Residence Accommodations

On-Campus residence accommodations are provided per discretion by the school.

Off-Campus Accommodations

The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.

Homestay

There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.
