2-Term Pathway - Foundation Year - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Physics and Mathematics (Sandwich Year)

3-Year Bachelor's Degree

Program Summary

Students will build their mathematics, science and engineering skills and knowledge, so they are ready for the challenge of moving on to BSc (Hons) Physics and Mathematics in their second year.

Students will get plenty of opportunities to apply their knowledge by taking part in a series of projects both on their own and in a group. This really develops their problem-solving and creative thinking skills – essential for physics and mathematics graduates.

Students will have a solid foundation to switch onto one of Nottingham Trent University's other mathematics or engineering courses if so desired.

The Mathematics and Physics degrees are current and relevant to the needs of business. Nottingham Trent University close links with industry means that students will have the opportunity to take up job placements with some of the world’s leading companies.

Every year Nottingham Trent University offers a small number of Mathematics Undergraduate Research Scholarships (MURS), giving successful applicants funding for a six-to-eight-week placement in one of their research teams. This is a great opportunity for students to further their research interests and contribute to the academic activities of the mathematics department.

Nottingham Trent University students have recently formed a Mathematics Society, and they will have the opportunity to take part in regular events hosted on campus by the local branch of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.

Please be advised that this course has a sandwich year.
