Program Summary

In Humber’s Film and Television Production (FMTV) advanced diploma program, students will gain hands-on experience with production and digital cinematography equipment from their first days at school. Industry experts will train students in the skills required for success in the film industry. Find one's  niche and develop team-building and collaboration skills by working in specialized roles on commercials, documentaries and short films. A wide variety of filmmaking, editing and cinematography courses will help students achieve well-rounded capabilities and create head-turning work.

In the FMTV program students will:

- fine tune film and TV production abilities using industry-standard production equipment in large, well-equipped studios and state-of-the-art video and audio editing suites

- gain valuable experience in every aspect of production including script writing, lighting, direction, shooting, post-production, distribution and exhibition

- complete their education with training in business and marketing, opportunities to connect with industry professionals, and a final-semester work placement

- premiere their work at high-profile program showcase screenings


Student films produced in FMTV are regularly selected for a number of leading film festivals including TIFF Top Ten, Hot Docs, Montreal World Film Festival and Air Canada EnRoute.
