Program Summary

In the Bachelor of Science Biomedical Engineering major at University of South Dakota, students will integrate engineering and medicine to develop solutions for medical problems. Here students will find a variety of experiential learning opportunities, from working with doctors to build medical devices to interning at local corporations at the forefront of developing cures for disease. This program will provide students with rich experiences in and beyond the classroom so students can pursue their career in biotech, engineering, medical school, public policy and more. A degree in biomedical engineering prepares students for a career in in the rapidly growing field that combines health care with engineering. Plus, they can apply 12 credits of their bachelor's degree program toward a master's degree in an accelerated option that allows them to earn both their bachelor's and master's degrees in five years instead of six.
