Program Summery
Designed to be completed over five years of full-time study, the Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Arts is an exciting degree that allows students to tailor their studies to their particular field of interest. Because of the unique way this program has been designed, students will be able to develop their skills and knowledge in the Arts, while focusing on these topics within the legal context.
For example:
- Students who choose to Major in Behavioral Science will develop their insights into human behavior – a skill that will prove particularly useful when assembling a criminal profile or cross-examining a witness.
- Students who undertake a Major in Social Justice can capitalize on the social justice focus of the Law School by taking courses in areas such as human rights law or law and war.
- Students who wish to work in not-for-profit or NGOs will find that a Major in Social Justice or Politics & International Relations sets them apart from the crowd.
Regardless of the specialist area students choose to pursue, a combined degree in Laws and Arts will ensure their legal training is supplemented by practical insights into their chosen industry. Many law firms and government departments prefer double degrees over single law degrees. By doing this combined degree, students become extremely marketable in the modern workplace.
